You can register for our fall fundraiser here by clicking the button above for online registration.  Please note there is a small online registration fee.  Registration forms and payment can also be mailed to P.O. Box 98, Harrisonburg, LA  71340, or dropped off at Medi-Thrift Drugs in Harrisonburg.  Click the button below to print a registration form to mail to us.

The walk/run will start at the Harrisonburg Farmers Market and take you through the Village of Harrisonburg along the Ouachita River in Central Louisiana.  Thank you for helping us continue our mission to provide therapy services to special needs children across the Miss-Lou!  We appreciate you!!


Welcome to the website of Spirit Reins Equine Center, Inc!  We are a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization.

Our facility is located in Catahoula Parish in the town of Harrisonburg.  We are Central Louisiana's only equine facility specializing in Hippotherapy.  Spirit Reins is located on a 148 acre farm.  Patients receive therapy under a covered arena with unique sensory stations, as well as along a beautiful nature trail through a wooded area.


Spirit Reins has served individuals with disabilities from our community and surrounding areas since 2009.  


Mission

Our mission is to create a unique rehabilitative experience for individuals with disabilities using the horse as a tool to improve their confidence, self-esteem, and quality of life. We utilize the human-horse bond to improve motor, sensory, speech, and behavioral/social responses in individuals with physical, mental, emotional, or communication challenges.



Therapy

At Spirit Reins Equine Center, we provide speech therapy services both within a traditional clinical setting as well as incorporating Hippotherapy as a treatment strategy.  We serve patients with disabilities including:  Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Developmental Delays, Social/Communication Delays, Language or Learning Disabilities, and Genetic Disorders.
